I suppose one type of an ego trip is the desire to hear your own voice reading a prose selection you have written. Fish Audio provided the means after a short stop at Wave Room fora voice sample.
Here’s the text sample I choose to have my cloned voice speak:
“My name is William Birchmire and I was born in Salem, New Jersey in 1867. We lived at 51 Olive Street. Most of us in those days were born at home with the assistance of the local midwife. Doctors cost money and most immigrants had very little. My father, Conrad, was born in Switzerland, immigrated to this country around 1850, settled in Salem, New Jersey, and worked as a gardener.
My mother came from Austria and had been widowed with two small children when she met and married my father. Her two sons, my half brothers, are important to this story because the family had connections to the glass blowing industry.
After graduation from grammar school, I too went to work in the family business and after an apprenticeship and more importantly, family connections, I became a Master Glass Blower.”
