Nuts and Bolts

There are dozens of nut and bolts recipes on the internet. Here’s a generic summary.

This makes about 18 or so cups and takes an hour or so to complete. Pretty generic for sure.

Ingredients

Snack mix:

4 cups Corn

4 cups Corn Chex

4 cups Wheat Chex

3 cups Rice Chex

2 cups Cheerios

3 cups skinny bite-sized pretzels

1½ cups salted nuts – Peanuts or Pecans

Aluminum roasting pan

For the Butter Seasoning

10 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted (or vegetable oil)

3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

2 heaping teaspoons seasoned salt

1¼ teaspoons garlic powder

¾ teaspoon onion powder

¾ teaspoon dried thyme

Instructions

Combine the dry ingredients in an aluminum pan or a roasting pan.

Mix the Butter seasoning ingredients in a bowl and pour slowly over the mixture, stirring to get everything well coated.

Bake for 1½ and stir every 30 minutes.

Mixture can be kept in an air tight container for up to 2 weeks or frozen in an air tight container for up to 3 months.
