Ingredients for a Simple Oil Crust
All-purpose flour: 2 cups
Neutral vegetable oil or canola oil: 3/4 cup
Salt: 1 teaspoon
Cold milk or water: 5 tablespoons [1, 2, 3]
Steps to Make the Crust
Mix dry items: Put the flour and salt into a medium bowl. Stir well with a fork.
Combine liquids: Pour the oil and cold milk (or water) into a small jar or cup. Shake or stir until it looks thick and blended.
Form the dough: Pour the liquid mix into the dry flour. Stir with a fork until a thick dough forms. Do not overmix.
Shape and bake: Press the dough evenly into your pie plate with your fingers. Poke a few holes in the bottom with a fork. Bake at 375°F for 10 to 15 minutes if your recipe calls for a pre-baked shell
